NSW Property Licensing Reforms:
Important information for current students

Attention Students,

We note you are currently undertaking certificate of registration or licence training with us. Please be aware of the requirements for NSW property licensing and the changes due to be implemented on 23 March 2020. We have outlined below how these changes will affect you, depending on the course you are enrolled in.

Certificate of registration students

Students should aim to complete their certificate of registration training and apply to NSW Fair Trading before 23 March 2020. After this date, NSW Fair Trading will no longer accept certificate of registration applications for training completed from the CPP07 training package (the course you are currently enrolled in), and students must instead complete five units of competency from the new CPP Property Services Training Package.

Licence students

Students will need to complete required units and make application to NSW Fair Trading before 23 March 2020 to allow for application for a licence under the current system. After this date, you are required to work in the industry for a period of 12 months after completing at least one unit of the current training prior to 23 March 2020. If you do not complete at least one unit of your course before the March deadline, you will need to complete training from the new CPP Property Services Training Package.

Are your details up to date?

Please ensure you have completed an enrolment form for your student file. Enrolment forms dated from over a year ago are likely to require confirmation of detail accuracy before a certificate/qualification can be processed. This may affect our ability to process your certificate/qualification in time for you to make application to NSW Fair Trading before 23 March 2020.

Things to consider as the March deadline approaches

Please be mindful of the time it will take for us to assess assignments and process certificates/qualifications upon course completion. Submissions are typically assessed within two business days, however, additional time may be needed to manage an influx of submissions over a short period. We recommend that students submit the last of their assignments no later than 3rd March 2020.

We will endeavour to issue Statements of Attainment to all currently studying licence students but encourage you to request a Statement of Attainment of completed units via email: nswreforms@realestatetraining.com.au.

If you feel course completion is not possible, please check your course status by clicking on the 'My Grades' link located at the top of the course page to see which units you have completed and contact us for guidance.

We recommend that all students read through the reforms news page on our website for more information.

If you are still unsure of how these changes will affect you, we recommend contacting NSW Fair Trading for clarification.
