New NSW Residential Tenancy Legislation - 2010

 

The existing Residential Tenancies legislation in NSW was drafted over 20 years ago. After much industry and public consultation a new Act was drafted which contained more than 100 reforms to the rules governing landlords and tenants. 

This unit contains information about the key areas of change including:

  • Disclosure to prospective tenants

  • Rental Bonds

  • Tenancy agreements

  • Alterations

  • Water efficiency

  • Holding fees

  • Notice periods

  • Rent arrears

  • Terminating an agreement.

This unit provides 12 points of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and is aligned to CPPDSM4007A Identify legal and ethical requirements of property management to complete agency workand CPPDSM4009B Interpret legislation to complete agency work.
